Athletics

Hillel Day School has won nine athletic championships in the last five years.
A Strong Mind, a Strong Soul … and a Strong Body

Athletics and physical education at Hillel promote lifelong fitness and are a true embodiment of our core values of derech eretz, treating all with respect.

Children ages two through eighth grade take part in a well-balanced physical and health education curriculum. Facilities include a state-of-the-art gymnasium that can be divided in two, a climbing wall, playing fields and equipment for gymnastics, archery and a variety of team sports. Throughout the year the curriculum includes fundamental sport and fitness skills to meet the needs of all children. By offering various experiences, our students develop the skills necessary to make educated decisions about their personal health, as well as become capable to participate in various individual or team sports.

Beginning in kindergarten, Hillel offers an intramural and competitive interscholastic program that builds skills, self-confidence and sportsmanship. Our teams play independent schools in basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis and volleyball. Many of our student athletes go on to play sports at the high school and college level, and often come back to school to share their experiences with current students.

Overall, the collaborative skills, character development, and community spirit that sports bring to a Hillel education are as important as the basketball trophies and cross country medals that we proudly display!
