Student Support and Enrichment

Every child is a unique learner who develops at his or her own pace.

That’s why Hillel offers a wide range of supports and enrichments designed to meet students where they are and help each one thrive.

At Hillel, we’re not limited by traditional eligibility criteria or other barriers. We use our own evaluation process to determine whether a student requires additional support.

Hillel's Support System

When it comes to meeting each student’s learning needs, we use a multi-tiered approach. Our small class sizes allow for targeted, individualized instruction, as well as small-group learning opportunities that provide both enrichment and support:

  • Learning specialists collaborate with teachers to assess student needs in both language arts and math, regularly pushing into classrooms to offer assistance to students.
  • We offer early intervention in ECC and Kindergarten, math and reading help, occupational therapy and assistance for English Language Learners (ELL) students.
  • Our speech and language pathologist provides screening and direct intervention for students who need early literacy and/or language support.
  • Our occupational therapist helps to meet the gross/fine motor, visual motor, motor planning and sensory needs of our students.

Supporting the whole child also means prioritizing social and emotional learning. Our team of social workers provides everything from schoolwide positive-behavior initiatives to one-on-one guidance for students who benefit from more specialized support.

"We have a lot of people making sure every student gets what they need. The idea is that nothing and nobody falls through the cracks." Kim Love Director of Student Services
