The Hillel ECC is a NAEYC accredited, 4-star rated Jewish preschool! The ECC provides a warm, loving, and safe environment in which our children can develop an intense feeling of pride in their Jewish heritage. Religious and cultural programming offer children the opportunity to observe and participate in Jewish customs, rituals, and holiday celebrations. The values of Judaism permeate the school program.
We recognize that each child is unique and is therefore encouraged to grow to his/her potential through nurturing and challenging experiences. The educational program, both secular and Jewish, strives to support, stimulate, and guide the growth of the child in each of the following developmental areas: emotional, social, physical, creative, cognitive, and spiritual. We provide a play-based curriculum that allows them to learn by being actively involved in their environment. Additionally, in our older groups, we use national curriculum tools, such as EVERYDAY MATH, ZOOPHONICS, HANDWRITING WITHOUT TEARS, and the WORKSHOP MODEL, as a base and support to our everyday programs.
Our teachers serve as facilitators of interactive learning and as role models in developing positive Jewish experiences, while providing an enriched environment that gives children opportunities to think, to question, to inquire, and to analyze. The educator creates an atmosphere that enables Judaism to become an integral part of each child’s world.
The school sees itself as an extension of the home, viewing education as the sum of all experiences. We promote and encourage the family’s interest and participation in the classroom and holiday celebrations.
Ultimately, it is our vision that the school and home partnership becomes the integrated foundation for each child by fostering a strong sense of Jewish identity.
Every child has the opportunity to learn through social interactions with peers and with nurturing teachers in a physically and emotionally safe environment.
The staff will encourage the children to develop a sense of responsibility, independence, and the ability to make good choices.
