    In this course, participants will develop a variety of hand drumming skills. Students will learn techniques for playing a cajon drum and a variety of rhythms from rock to calypso. A primary focus will be on learning how to play musical phrases on the drum. Participants will learn to vocalize rhythms, and then "Play what they Say!" We will also make our own homemade percussion instruments and learn to play those as well. Participants will be encouraged to express their own rhythmic creativity by making up and performing their own rhythms.
