Mind and Soul. Better together.

Welcome from the Director of Advancement

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in Hillel Day School! We hope that through our website, we can convey a taste of the passion, values, creativity and academic rigor that make our school truly unique.

At Hillel, we are committed to delivering an outstanding general and Jewish education to every Jewish child, from early childhood through eighth grade. We foster intellectual curiosity and emotional maturity, and we challenge all of our students to reach their fullest potential. We provide the tools for a 21st century education with cutting edge technology to give our students every advantage for future success. Our teaching staff is a core strength of our school, as is the culture of collaboration. Hillel students benefit from small classes, personal attention, and a team approach to great teaching. Our dual curriculum educates the whole child – academically, socially and morally – and provides our students with a sound cultural foundation while wiring their brains to accelerate learning in all academic subjects. Our graduates leave Hillel as critical thinkers who possess essential tools for success in life, a commitment to Tikkun Olam (perfecting the world), and a rich multi-dimensional identity – confidently American and deeply Jewish.

At Hillel, students learn to question, analyze, problem solve and think critically in two languages. Our teachers collaborate across subjects and grade levels to provide an exceptional educational foundation.  We are proudly at the forefront of the paradigm shift in education today - incorporating 21st-century teaching and technology in a Jewish environment that cultivates passion, tolerance, respect and joy in helping others.  The deep knowledge of ethics, faith and values gained at Hillel helps form children devoted not only to doing well, but to doing good.

With the addition of our IDEA Collaborative, complete with maker space, prototyping room and greenhouse, Hillel is more prepared than ever to provide the opportunities our students need to inherit our 21st-century world. At Hillel, our goal is to help children acquire the essential skills they need to live a purposeful and meaningful Jewish life, and to provide the authentic learning experiences that set them up for success as informed citizens of a 21st-century world. Moreover, students are challenged, engaged and inspired at their own levels.

Our graduates go on to the finest independent and public high schools, and study at our country’s top colleges. As adults, they shine as responsible and involved members of their communities, and make great contributions to our world. Throughout their lives, they maintain the close-knit friendships and relationships that they forge at Hillel.

We are a community day school, open and welcoming to children from every affiliation and observance. Your child will develop a deep personal connection to Judaism rooted in genuine respect for the wide range of practice and belief that exist in the Jewish community.

Hillel prides itself on becoming a community for your entire family. We encourage and welcome parental involvement, and enjoy sharing school gatherings, performances and life-cycle events with our students and their families.

We invite you to fill out an inquiry form, and we hope you will visit us during the school day. Come meet our exemplary faculty, staff and students, and observe our innovative and exciting educational philosophy in action! You will see first-hand how Hillel seamlessly incorporates ethics and values into the lives of our students. We emphasize the importance of being a good person as well as a strong student.

Our goal is to make the admission process as smooth and friendly as possible. We look forward to getting to know your family.
